Kundapur, Mar 3: The lamp lighting and oath taking ceremony was held for BSc Nursing batch 6 students of Moodlakatte Nursing College at the college auditorium recently.

The program was inaugurated by chief guests of the event Dr Anitha C Rai, principal, Vidyarathna Nursing College; Dr S N Bhat, academic director, IMJ Educational Institution; Prof Jennifer Freeda Meneges, principal, Moodlakatte Nursing College and Roopashree K S, vice-principal, Moodlakatte Nursing College, by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

The programme commenced with the invocation. A floral tribute was offered to the portrait of Florence Nightingale honouring her contribution to modern nursing.

The lamp lighting and oath-taking ceremony was the highlight of the programme. The oath was administered by Prof Jennifer Freeda Maneges to the students, to uphold the ethical standards, values and responsibilities of the nursing profession.

Chief guest of the programme Dr Anitha C Rao, in her inspirational words, highlighted the importance of the programme.

Dr S N Bhat, in his presidential address, urged students to be committed to their duties and uphold the dignity of the nursing profession and appreciated the excellent organization of the programme.

Chethana welcomed the gathering. Head of paediatric department Chandrashekar delivered the vote of thanks. Pavitra compered the programme.

The programme concluded with the national anthem.
