Islamabad, Mar 4: The Pakistan Army has killed a commander of the Afghan Taliban during an operation near the strategic Torkham border crossing in northwest Pakistan, security officials said on Wednesday.
The slain militant has been identified as Qahraman, commander of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan (TTA). He and several of his associates were eliminated late Tuesday night when they allegedly attempted to approach the border and were intercepted by security forces.

Torkham serves as a key border crossing between Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province.
Officials said security forces engaged the group with artillery fire, effectively targeting and neutralising the militants. Qahraman was killed along with several of his accomplices during the operation.
Sources added that Qahraman was a resident of the Afghan side of Torkham, near Jalalabad. Further details regarding the operation are awaited.
