Mangaluru, Mar 4: National Science Day is celebrated every year on February 28 to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by the eminent Indian physicist Sir C V Raman, for which he was awarded the Nobel prize in physics. This significant day serves as a reminder of the remarkable contributions of Indian scientists and highlights the importance of science in shaping the modern world. It aims to spread awareness about the role of science in everyday life, foster scientific temper, and inspire young minds to pursue innovation and research.

St Agnes School commemorated National Science Day with great enthusiasm and academic spirit. Nia Maria Joby delivered the welcome address, warmly greeting the chief guest, Mamatha Kamath, faculty member of St Agnes School CBSE, teachers, and students. The programme was honoured by the gracious presence of Mamatha Kamath, whose participation added significance to the celebration and inspired the young audience.

Ahana S Amin delivered an informative speech explaining the significance of National Science Day. Her speech highlighted how science plays a vital role in national development, technological progress, and improving the quality of human life. She emphasized the importance of rational thinking and evidence-based learning in today’s world.

Students also performed a thematic dance depicting the journey of scientific discoveries. The performance beautifully portrayed the evolution of science and its profound impact on society.
