Mangaluru: Life imprisonment, fine for accused in murder case

Mangaluru, Mar 6: In connection with a murder case that occurred under the jurisdiction of Mulki police station, the accused Murugan has been sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Rs 10,000 by Judge Jagadish V N of the 2nd additional district court.

According to the case, on the night of March 19, 2022 at around 9:45 pm, Murugan murdered Harish Salian (47) of Ullanje at Mulki Pete in Bappanadu village by assaulting him with a laterite stone over a financial dispute. A case had been registered at Mulki police station in this regard.

The investigation into the case was conducted by CI Kusumadhar, who filed the chargesheet before the court. SI Sanjeev assisted in the investigation. Jyothi Pramod Nayak argued the case on behalf of the government.
