Ramanath Rai welcomes Karnataka budget, lauds focus on coastal development

Mangaluru, Mar 6: KPCC vice president and former minister B Ramanath Rai has welcomed the state budget presented by the Karnataka government, describing it as people-friendly and development-oriented.

In a statement reacting to the budget, Rai said the schemes announced for farmers, women, youth and the middle-class are commendable and will benefit various sections of society.

He particularly appreciated the emphasis laid on the development of coastal regions, including initiatives related to tourism, fisheries and strengthening of police stations.

Rai also noted that the budget has given special priority to several sectors such as agriculture, forests, health, muzrai institutions, minority welfare, housing and education.

“The budget has accorded importance to the welfare of all sections of society and will contribute to the overall development of the state as well as the coastal region,” he said.

He further stated that the budget marks an important step towards comprehensive development of Karnataka and especially the coastal belt.
