New Delhi, Mar 7: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has decided to support the no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, party sources said on Saturday.
As Parliament prepares for the second phase of the Budget session on Monday, the Lok Sabha has listed a notice by the opposition seeking to remove Birla for allegedly acting in a “blatantly partisan” manner.

The notice, signed by at least 118 opposition MPs, cited incidents during the first phase of the session, including restrictions on Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders from speaking on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address, and the suspension of eight MPs.
Earlier, TMC MPs had not signed the notice but have now confirmed their support for the motion.
