UAE: Alfred D'Souza Re-elected as President of 'Sakath'

Dubai, Mar 3: The members of St Anne's church Thottam ('Sakath'-UAE) held their fifth annual general body meeting (AGM) at Maskan building, Karama recently.

The meeting commenced with a prayer by Nelson Vaz. The president Alfred D'Souza welcomed the members. General secretary Melwin D'Souza reviewed all the activities carried out during the year 2011-2012 and the annual financial report was presented by treasurer Frank Fernandes.

The polling officer Alwin Pinto conducted the election of the Sakath office-bearers for the year 2012-2013.

Following are the new office-bearers elected unanimously:

Hon president - Alfred D'Souza
Hon vice-president - Terrance Furtado
Hon general secretary - Patricia D'Souza
Hon joint secretary - Pascal Colaco
treasurer - Frank Fernandes
joint treasurer - Ronald D'Souza
Sports secretary - Rohit D'Almeida
Event coordinator I - Oliver Fernandes
Event coordinator II - Nelson Vaz
Web master I - Ravi D'Almeida
Web master II - Reena D'Almeida
Office-bearer I - Archie Braganza
Office-bearer II - Sandesh D'Souza
PRO / advisor - Agnel D'Souza

Alfred D'Souza thanked the members for re-electing him for the second successive term as the president. He emphasized that the challenge ahead is to bring all Thottam parishioners residing in the UAE together by arranging a big outdoor picnic in the month of April and an event at the end of this year.

He requested the committee and the members for their full cooperation and assured them of his best efforts for the unity and continuity of the good work.
