Joyful farewell to three dedicated altar servers at St Joseph’s Church, Hirebile

Chikkamagaluru, Mar 9: The Altar Servers’ boys and girls group of St Joseph’s Church, Hirebile in the Chikmagalur diocese joyfully bid adieu to three young and energetic altar boys who have faithfully served at the altar for the past seven years. Their dedication, prayerful spirit, discipline, and willingness to help have made them exemplary members of the Altar Servers’ Association.

Soon after the Holy Mass, a small farewell programme was organized by the altar servers. The programme began with a welcome dance followed by a prayerful invocation, creating a joyful and grateful atmosphere for the gathering.

Fr David Prakash graced the occasion along with Lancy Carlo, parish council secretary, and Sr Santhosh D’Souza UFS. Their presence added meaning and encouragement to the young altar servers.

Altar servers association animator Sr Rekha Fernandes UFS who throughout the year accompanied them and conducted weekly meetings and animated them.

During the programme, the parish priest thanked the three outgoing altar servers for their remarkable and faithful service to the Church. He praised their commitment and encouraged them to continue growing in faith and service. He also mentioned that one among them has expressed a desire to become a priest and join the seminary in the future, which brought great joy to everyone present.

The priest extended his heartfelt wishes to the three boys and also wished all the students success in their upcoming final examinations.

At the end of the programme, all the altar servers shared their wishes with one another and gathered together for breakfast, celebrating their friendship and the spirit of service that binds them as a family in Christ.
