India bags biggest prize as ICC confirms T20 World Cup payouts

Dubai, Mar 11: The International Cricket Council has announced the final distribution of prize money following the conclusion of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, which saw India national cricket team lift a record third title.

A total of $11.25 million in prize money will be distributed among the 20 participating teams, in line with the record increase in ICC tournament prize funds announced in 2024.

India secured the biggest share, earning $2,639,423 after defeating New Zealand national cricket team by 96 runs in the final. New Zealand, appearing in their second men’s T20 World Cup final, received the second-largest payout of $1,422,692.

The total earnings include the base participation amount of $225,000 awarded to all teams, along with additional bonuses based on match wins, stage progression and final placements.

Among the semi-finalists, South Africa national cricket team crossed the million-dollar mark with earnings of $1,005,577. The Proteas had remained unbeaten in the tournament before losing to New Zealand at Eden Gardens after a sensational chase powered by a century from Finn Allen.

The fourth semi-finalist, England national cricket team, earned $974,423 after narrowly missing out on a place in the final following their defeat to India in the semi-finals.

Among other top performers, West Indies cricket team received $538,269, while Pakistan national cricket team took home $522,692. Zimbabwe national cricket team earned $491,538 after a strong campaign that included a notable win over Australia national cricket team.

Tournament co-hosts Sri Lanka national cricket team secured $475,962 after reaching the Super 8 stage.

Meanwhile, United States national cricket team finished the tournament with $309,808 after recording two wins in the group stage. The same amount was earned by Australia and Afghanistan national cricket team.

Further down the list, Scotland national cricket team and Ireland national cricket team received $278,654 and $271,731 respectively after registering a win each during the competition.

The tournament also witnessed a memorable debut for Italy national cricket team, which secured its maiden victory against Nepal national cricket team. Italy is set to receive $256,154, the same amount awarded to the Netherlands national cricket team, United Arab Emirates national cricket team and Nepal.

Meanwhile, Canada national cricket team, Namibia national cricket team and Oman national cricket team each received the base participation amount of $225,000.
