Puttur, Mar 12: Police detected illegal transportation of cattle near the Gundya check post and apprehended a goods tempo driver along with four bulls in an incident reported on Wednesday.

The arrested goods tempo driver has been identified as Kumar.

According to the police, he was transporting four bulls in a cruel manner from Arasikere to a slaughterhouse in Kasargod.

Acting on credible information received by probationary ASP Ananya Srivastav, the police on duty at the Gundya check post conducted a vehicle inspection, during which the offence came to light. The police subsequently arrested the driver Kumar and seized the goods tempo used for the illegal transport, and a case has been registered.
