Udupi, Mar 12: In a heartening act, locals rescued a monkey that had been struggling for the past two to three days with a pot stuck on its head. The incident occurred at Chitrabailu in Pernankila village on Thursday.

Local social worker and environmental enthusiast Naveen Kumar Chitrabailu, along with Sukesh, Harish Ram and Vishwanath, noticed the monkey moving around the area in distress with the pot stuck on its head.

They immediately sprang into action, tied the monkey with a rope and took it to the premises of Chitrabailu Sri Brahmalingeshwara Temple. They then wet the monkey’s head with water and carefully removed the pot from its head.

Soon after the pot was removed, the relieved animal jumped up and ran away. The timely effort of the local youths has been widely appreciated.
