Udupi, March 14: Several parts of Hebri and Karkala taluks in the district witnessed light rain on Saturday evening, bringing a cool and pleasant change in the weather across the region.
Localities in Karkala taluk including Karkala town, Mala, Ajekaru, Shirlalu, Bellan and Bajegoli, as well as areas near Hebri such as Muniyalu, Andaru, Mudradi and Kabbinale, experienced light showers accompanied by thunder. The rainfall brought relief to residents who had been reeling under intense heat over the past few days.
However, the sudden rain also caused inconvenience to some motorists in a few places, making travel slightly difficult for vehicle riders.
