Media Release

Mangaluru, Mar 14: The thanksgiving ceremony for the Class VII students of St Aloysius College Higher Primary School was organised to express gratitude and bid farewell to the outgoing students.

The ceremony was held on March 14, at 9:30 am in the school auditorium. The event was graced by the presence of the correspondent, Fr Johnson Pinto S.J, the headmistress Jositta Noronha, the chief guest advocate Deepak D’Souza (B.A., LLB.) and the PTA vice president Mohammad Iqbal.

The programme began with the symbolic lighting of lamps by the students, signifying the illumination of knowledge and wisdom and their commitment to spreading light in the world. This was followed by a solemn prayer service, during which the Class VII students read verses from the holy scriptures and offered prayers.

The gathering was warmly welcomed by Jordan Thoras. In his address, the chief guest, advocate Deepak D’Souza, encouraged the students to grow into responsible individuals. He reminded them to always value the dedication of their parents and the efforts of their teachers and advised them to remain grateful and never forget the institution that laid the foundation of their learning.

Following this, headmistress Jositta Noronha administered the farewell oath to the outgoing students. On this occasion, the chief guest also awarded scholarships in memory of late Ashish D’Souza, an alumnus of the school. Scholarships were presented to Ethan Aarush Pinto, the topper in Catechism and Nidhi Kiran Sirsikar, the topper in Diocesan Value Education.

Adding an emotional touch to the programme, Laxminarayan R J, Sridevi and Nihal Paul D’Souza shared their experiences and cherished memories of their journey in the school — from kindergarten to Class VII — expressing both happiness at continuing their education in the same institution and sentiments at leaving the familiar campus and teachers who guided them.

The event also featured touching performances by the students of Classes IV, V and VI, who presented a farewell song and dance as a tribute to their seniors. The programme was skillfully compered by Jenelia Vaz, Mohammed Saad Sajid, Reon Mascarenhas, Aliya Mulla, Kushi N and Rishab Amin.

The correspondent, Fr Johnson Pinto S.J, extended his heartfelt blessings and best wishes for the bright future of the students. The vote of thanks was delivered by Cianna Angel D’Souza, who expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, teachers, students and organisers who contributed to the success of the event.

The ceremony served as a beautiful reminder of the students’ memorable journey in the school and the values they will carry forward in the years to come. The programme concluded with the rendition of the school anthem, marking the end of a memorable and meaningful occasion.
