Bantwal, Mar 15: A 'Souharda' (Harmony) Iftar get-together was held under the leadership of former minister B Ramanath Rai at the Sagar Auditorium in Panemangalore on Saturday evening.
Presiding over the programme, B Ramanath Rai stated that the event was organized to strengthen the essence of harmony. He emphasized that the primary objective is for everyone to live in accordance with the messages of unity shared by religious leaders.
Delivering a message on the occasion, Sri Mohandas Paramahamsa Swamiji of Manila Sri Dhama Kshetra commended Ramanath Rai for his efforts in fostering unity and winning the hearts of all sections of society. He noted that the former minister has consistently contributed to social, educational, and religious initiatives. The Swamiji added that living with love amidst challenges is crucial and called upon everyone to give meaning to harmony through active participation.




Vicar Forane of Bantwal Varado, Fr Victor D'Souza, stressed the importance of living like children of one mother. He urged the gathering to move beyond the barriers of caste and creed to maintain a peaceful and harmonious society.
Muhammad Kunhi, president of Shanthi Prakashana, Mangaluru, observed that the core purpose of fasting is self-control. He highlighted the need to eradicate hatred and cultivate humanity. He expressed hope that such Iftar meets would help dispel misunderstandings and solidify unity among people.
Prominent leaders including Khatib Dawood Ismail Faizi of Nehru Nagar Mosque, Padmaraj R Poojary, U T Ifthikar, Ashwani Kumar Rai, Prakash Shetty Thumbe, Pius L Rodriguez, Baby Kunder, Abbas Ali, Nawaz Badakabailu, Mohammed Nandavara, Kavu Hemanath Shetty, Shashidhar Hegde, Mohammed Ali, Jayanthi R Poojary, Shailaja Rajesh, Sudarshan Jain, and Padmashekhara Jain were present.
