Mangaluru, Mar 16: The Tulu Parishat in association with the Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy has decided to organise the 3rd student Tulu Sammelana in a grand manner on March 20 at Amruta Someshwara Sabhangan, Tulu Bhavan, Urva Stores, Mangaluru, starting at 10 am.
The student conference will be completely centred on students. Like the previous two conferences, talented students will serve as the inaugurator and president of the Sammelana. Two meritorious students have been selected for these roles.

The Sammelana will be inaugurated by Pritam Nayak, a postgraduate student of Nitte Educational Institutions, Deralakatte. The conference will be presided over by Abhigna, a degree student from SMS College, Brahmavar.
Former chief minister and noted writer Dr M Veerappa Moily will deliver the keynote address, while Legislative Assembly Speaker U T Khader will offer his felicitations.
Following the inaugural session, the first seminar will feature a talk by Nijaligeswara Swamiji, pontiff of Jagadguru Durudundeshwara Siddhasamsthana Mutt, Nidagosi, and a well-known environmentalist. The second session will include an interactive discussion where six students will engage with the Sammelana president and chairperson on the theme of communal harmony traditions of Tulunadu.
In the afternoon, a Tulu Huppeth competition will be organised for students. The valedictory function will be held at 3 pm, in the presence of several dignitaries including MP Brjesh Chowta, former MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MESCOM chairman Harish Kumar, former MLA J R Lobo, Environmental Tourism Board chairperson Shalett Pinto, corporation president M A Gafoor, Gokarnanatheshwara Temple treasurer Padmaraj R Poojary, Coastal Development Authority member Vishwan Kumar Das, Pranth Raitha Sangha president K Yadav Shetty, Bantara Mathru Sangha leader Ajith Kumar Rai Malady, DK District Chess Association president Dr Amarshree K Shetty, Dalit Sangharsha Samiti president K Devadas, Mangalore University Syndicate member Suresh Navoor, and Tulu Drama Artists’ Federation president Kishore D Shetty, among others.
Prizes will also be distributed to winners of the Kalaasiri competition held for students on March 10.
Students will present various cultural programmes throughout the day as part of the Sammelana.
