LPG vessel Shivalik to arrive at Mangaluru port after crossing Strait of Hormuz with 26,000 MT cargo

Mangaluru, Mar 17: The LPG carrier vessel Shivalik, carrying a large consignment of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), will arrive at New Mangalore Port after successfully crossing the Strait of Hormuz amid the tense situation in the Middle East.

The LPG vessel Shivalik earlier arrived at the LPG terminal of Mundra Port in Gujarat on March 16, carrying a total LPG quantity of 46,000 MT through the Strait of Hormuz. Out of this, 20,000 MT was unloaded at Mundra, while the remaining 26,000 MT will be brought to New Mangalore Port for unloading.

The vessel is transporting liquid LPG ordered by Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.

According to information available, the vessel had departed from Ras Laffan Port in Qatar in the first week of March with the LPG consignment.

Both LPG carrier vessels, Shivalik and Nandadevi, had been unable to cross the Strait of Hormuz earlier due to the war-like situation in the Middle East. However, after the Iranian government allowed Indian vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, the two ships resumed their journey and have now reached India.
