Puttur: 5-year-old girl dies, two injured in road accident

Puttur, Mar 17: A five-year-old girl died and two others were injured after a car collided with a two-wheeler at Kalleri near Uppinangady on Monday.

According to reports, Ismail, a resident of Kodange House in Tannirupantha village, was travelling from Kalleri to Kuppetti on a two-wheeler along with his daughter Sajira and granddaughter Suhaira when a car driven by Shivaprasad, a native of Venoor, coming from the opposite direction collided with their vehicle.

As a result of the impact, Suhaira sustained serious injuries, while her mother Sajira (33) and the two-wheeler rider, the girl’s grandfather Ismail (60), were also injured. All three were admitted to hospital for treatment.

However, Suhaira, who had sustained critical injuries, succumbed to her injuries on Monday night, police sources said.

A case has been registered at the Puttur traffic police station.
