New Delhi, Mar 17: World No. 3 golfer Tommy Fleetwood will return to defend his title at the DP World India Championship, scheduled to be held at the Delhi Golf Club from October 15–18, 2026.
Fleetwood clinched the inaugural edition of the tournament last year, defeating a strong international field to secure his eighth title on the DP World Tour. The event, which carries a prize purse of $4 million, is expected to once again attract top global golfers.
The victory in Delhi marked a significant moment in Fleetwood’s impressive season. He also went on to win the FedEx Cup on the PGA Tour and made his fourth appearance at the Ryder Cup, helping Team Europe Ryder Cup team defeat the United States Ryder Cup team on American soil for the first time since 2012.

The 2024 Summer Olympics silver medallist delivered a thrilling performance during the tournament in Delhi, producing a strong run of scoring around the turn on the final day to move into contention. Crucial birdies on the 14th and 17th holes secured him a two-shot victory, followed by emotional celebrations on the 18th green with his son Frankie as he lifted the Lotus Trophy.
The championship was launched in 2025 by global logistics company DP World in partnership with the DP World Tour. The event is co-sanctioned with the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) and features the largest prize fund ever offered for a DP World Tour event in India.
Fleetwood said he had an unforgettable experience during the inaugural edition, praising the hospitality of Indian fans, the atmosphere of the city, and the challenge presented by the Delhi Golf Club course. He added that celebrating the win with his family made the moment even more special.
The second edition of the tournament highlights India’s growing status as a destination for elite international golf and builds on the success of events like the Hero Indian Open.
The DP World India Championship will serve as the eighth of nine tournaments in the “Back 9” phase of the Race to Dubai standings. The season will conclude with the DP World Tour Play-Offs, culminating in the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates in November.
