Honnavar: Biker killed in KSRTC bus accident near Haladipur

Honnavar, Mar 20: In a tragic road accident, a motorcyclist lost his life on the spot after a collision between a KSRTC bus and a bike near Haladipur Agrahara in Honnavar on Thursday night.

The deceased has been identified as Venkatesh Gopalakrishna Vaidya, a resident of Chippihakkal in Navilagon village. He was reportedly working as a cook and was on his way to Haladipur for work when the accident occurred.

According to preliminary information, the impact of the collision threw the rider onto the road. It is suspected that he was not wearing a helmet, resulting in severe head injuries. He reportedly died on the spot due to excessive bleeding.

Police from Honnavar police station visited the scene and conducted an inspection. The body has been shifted to the taluk hospital mortuary.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
