Uttarakhand cabinet expanded; five BJP MLAs take oath as ministers

Daijiworld Media Network - Dehradun

Dehradun, Mar 20: The cabinet of Pushkar Singh Dhami was expanded on Friday with the induction of five MLAs from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as ministers.

The swearing-in ceremony was held at Lok Bhavan in Dehradun, where Governor Gurmeet Singh administered the oath of office.

Those inducted into the cabinet include Khajan Das, Madan Kaushik, Pradeep Batra, Bharat Chaudhary, and Ram Singh Kaida.

The expansion fills vacancies in the council of ministers that arose after the death of former minister Chandan Ram Das in 2023 and the resignation of Prem Chand Agarwal last year.

With this expansion, the cabinet moves closer to its maximum permissible strength of 12 members as per constitutional provisions.
