Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Mar 6: A gang of three barged into a house in Doddanagudde in the town on the night of Sunday March 4, and decamped with valuables and an Innova car, totally valued at around Rs 14.50 lac. The house in question is located behind Baliga Hospital, and belongs to Kanaka R Amin.

The robbery occurred at around 10.30 pm. Kanaka and her relatives, Vasudeva Poojary, Gurudas, and Prakash, were watching television programmes, when three unidentified youth approached them and asked about a person named Santosh, working as a painter. The youth tried to force their way into the house, but those inside the house resisted. The gang then made its way into the house, and threatened those present by brandishing a knife, before stabbing Vasudeva Poojary with the knife, gagging him with the help of a plaster, and confining him to a room.

The gang then forced Kanaka to open the doors of steel cupboards, and took away nine golden bangles, a gold chain, two diamond rings, an American diamond ring, a pair of diamond ear rings, three wrist watches, Rs 1.75 lac in cash, three mobile phones, and a laptop. The three robbers then made good their escape in the Innova car belonging to the family, which was parked in front of the house.

Kanaka's two children live abroad. One of them is in Dubai, while the other is employed in Mumbai. It is learnt that Kanaka's relatives are staying with her, as she is alone.

A report in this connection was filed in Manipal police station. The police, who have formed three teams, said they have gathered some clues, and that the teams are visiting different places in accordance with the leads they have collected.

If Theives can just enter a house in the City, what more is required.
This is unbelievable. How cum the theives know very few people are in the house, why will one open the door to the strangers, by the bye how could the police get the photoes, did the residing people know about the robbery beforehand and take pictures and keep or maybe they have taken the photoes and kept in case of missing them nice thought. Some thing is missing here.

Robberies are now becoming more and more daring in our DK. These robbers had the gumption to even drive away in the family's car? This is due to lax police, lack of informants, and heavy influx of people from other states!!
