Goa Archbishop extends Eid-ul-Fitr greetings, calls for unity and harmony

Panaji, Mar 21: Archbishop of Goa and Daman Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao on Saturday extended warm greetings to the Muslim community on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, highlighting the values of compassion, unity and mutual respect.

In his message, the Archbishop, along with Auxiliary Bishop Simiao Fernandes, conveyed heartfelt wishes to Muslim brothers and sisters celebrating the festival, which marks a time of prayer for forgiveness, mercy and peace.

He noted that the occasion serves as an opportunity to strengthen bonds of friendship and promote harmony among communities.

“As we celebrate the values of compassion, generosity and unity, let us continue to walk together in friendship and mutual respect, building bridges of understanding for the common good,” Ferrao said.

He also offered prayers for lasting peace and stability in Gulf nations, expressing hope that the spirit of Eid would inspire greater unity and harmony across the world.

The Archbishop concluded his message by extending “Eid Mubarak” greetings to all.
