Udupi: Bike–tempo collision claims life of bike rider in Manipal

Udupi, Mar 23: A rider died on the spot in a tragic road accident involving a bike and a tempo near Kabyaadi Arman Rat Factory at Athradi in Manipal on Monday March 23.

The deceased is identified as Bhaskar Naik (70), a resident of Herga village. It is reported that a 407 tempo travelling from Athradi towards Moodubelle collided head-on with a bike coming from the opposite direction. As a result, the two persons on the bike were thrown onto the road along with the vehicle. Bhaskar Naik, who sustained critical injuries, died on the spot.

The pillion rider suffered a severed leg and was seriously injured. Police reached the spot and conducted an inspection.
