Dubai, Mar 23: Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for February 2026 following a sensational campaign in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026.
Farhan dominated the tournament, finishing as the highest run-scorer with 383 runs in seven matches at an impressive average of 76.60. His remarkable tally included two centuries and two half-centuries, achieved at a blistering strike rate of over 160.
In the process, he surpassed the long-standing record held by Virat Kohli for the most runs in a single edition of a T20 World Cup. He also became the first player to score two centuries in one edition of the tournament, reaching the milestone against Namibia and Sri Lanka.

Farhan edged out strong competition from Will Jacks and Shadley van Schalwyk to secure the award. The winner was decided through a combination of global fan votes and a panel of experts, including former international players and media representatives.
This marks Farhan’s first ICC Player of the Month award, making him the first Pakistani male cricketer to receive the honour since Haris Rauf in November 2024.
Reacting to the achievement, Farhan said the recognition was especially meaningful given the global stage of the World Cup. He credited his teammates for their unwavering support and expressed determination to maintain his form in upcoming series.
The 29-year-old’s outstanding performances also propelled him to a career-best second position in the ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings. One of the highlights of his campaign was a record 176-run partnership—the highest for any wicket in T20 Internationals—with Fakhar Zaman.
Following his stellar run, Farhan was also named in the ICC Team of the Tournament, capping off a memorable and record-breaking month in international cricket.
