Muniyal Udaykumar Shetty slams MLA Sunil Kumar over Mundli dam gate theft row

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (TP)

Udupi, Mar 23: Muniyal Udaykumar Shetty claimed that a supporter of the MLA Sunil Kumar had been caught by police for allegedly stealing a gate belonging to the Mundli dam in Karkala. He alleged that authorities were attempting to suppress the matter and demanded a high-level investigation into the theft of equipment from the dam.

Addressing a press conference held at Udupi press club on March 23, Muniyal Udaykumar Shetty accused Sunil Kumar of introducing corruption in the coastal region nearly two decades ago and failing to ensure meaningful development in the constituency. He further alleged that the MLA was seeking votes in the name of religion and God instead of focusing on developmental issues. He also claimed that rather than taking responsibility, the MLA was trying to shift the blame onto the state government.

Highlighting development works, Muniyal Udaykumar Shetty stated that the state government had already released Rs 110 crore for infrastructure projects, including roads and bridges, in the Karkala constituency. Despite this, he alleged that Sunil Kumar was spreading misinformation against the government.

Hebri Block Congress president Gopinath Bhat, Karkala-Hebri Block Mahila Congress president Bhanu Bhaskar, Prasanna Shetty, and Dinesh Shetty were present at the press conference.
