Panaji, Mar 26: Ram Navami was celebrated with great religious fervour and devotion across Goa on Thursday, with temples witnessing a large turnout of devotees from early morning hours.

Extending his greetings on the auspicious occasion, Goa Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju urged citizens to uphold the values of peace, unity, and prosperity in society.

In South Goa’s Ponda region, the Shree Ramnath Temple was adorned with flowers and lights, where special pujas and rituals were performed. Similarly, in North Goa, the Shri Ram Devasthan Temple saw devotees participating in Ramayana recitations, bhajans, and distribution of prasad.

At the Shree Damodar Temple, special religious ceremonies were organised, drawing a large number of worshippers.

In his message, the Governor described Lord Rama as the embodiment of righteousness, compassion, and ideal leadership, often revered as “Maryada Purushottam.” He noted that the life and teachings of Lord Rama continue to inspire values such as truth, justice, humility, and devotion.

He further called upon people to renew their commitment to dharma and work collectively towards harmony and progress, while wishing citizens happiness, good health, and well-being on the occasion.
