Mangaluru, Mar 29: The eighth annual convocation ceremony of Srinivas University was held on March 28 at the Mukka campus of the university.
The managing director and CEO of Karnataka Bank, Raghavendra Srinivas Bhat, attended the event as the chief guest. In his address, he fondly remembered the founder chancellor of the university, Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, and praised his remarkable contributions to the field of higher education. He advised students to apply the knowledge gained during their academic years in their professional lives and contribute meaningfully to the nation. He emphasized that an educated mind and strong skills are essential in today’s world to unlock abundant opportunities.








Satish U Pai, executive chairman of Manipal Media Network Limited, was conferred the honorary Doctor of Letters (D.Litt) degree in recognition of his significant contributions to the printing industry. Upon receiving the honor, he shared insights from his professional journey and expressed gratitude to the university. He stated that letters are always truthful and form the core of the printing profession.
In his presidential address, Dr A Srinivas Rao appreciated the achievements of Satish U Pai and Raghavendra Srinivas Bhat for their valuable contributions and belief in collective growth. He congratulated all graduates and their parents, advising students to continuously update their skills in line with evolving industry demands.
Prof Er A Mithra S Rao, trustee member of Srinivas University, administered the oath to the graduates. Dr K Satyanarayana Reddy presented details of the graduates, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD scholars, and highlighted the university’s achievements in research over the past year.
Trustee members A Vijayalakshmi R Rao and Ishan Rao, managing editor of Taranga Weekly Dr Sandhya S Pai, vice-chancellor Dr K Satyanarayana Reddy, registrar Dr Anil Kumar, registrar (evaluation) Dr Srinivasa Mayya D, and registrar (development) Dr Ajay Kumar were present on the dais.
A total of 2,769 graduates received their degrees, including 626 postgraduate and 2,023 undergraduate students. The university awarded 236 ranks across various programs and conferred the Chancellor’s Gold Medal to 48 graduates. Additionally, one DSc, one D.Litt, and 118 PhD degrees were awarded.
The program began with a welcome address by registrar Dr Anil Kumar. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Srinivasa Mayya D. The event was compered by Prof Rohan Fernandes and Dr Swathi.
