Beltangady: Student killed, another critically injured as bike hits divider

Beltangady, Mar 29: A college student lost his life and another was critically injured after their motorcycle crashed into a road divider on the Ujire–Dharmasthala state highway late night of March 28.

The deceased has been identified as Nitesh (19), a resident of Ammanangadi in Laila village and son of Chandrashekar. The rider, Likhith (20), a resident of Puttur, sustained severe injuries and has been admitted to a private hospital in Ujire. Both were students at a private college in Ujire.

The accident occurred at approximately 12:30 am when the duo was returning from an event. According to sources, the motorcycle skidded and rammed into the divider in front of Panchami Lodge on the College Road stretch of the highway.

Beltangady traffic police visited the spot and conducted an inspection. A case has been registered in this regard.
