Absconding accused held after 16 years, remanded to judicial custody in Udupi

Udupi, Apr 2: In a significant breakthrough, the police have arrested an accused who had been absconding for the past 16 years and produced him before a court, which remanded him to judicial custody.

The arrested has been identified as Raju Mogera, a resident of Belake near Bhatkal. He was apprehended by the staff of Udupi Town police station.

Police personnel Raghavendra and Bharamappa were part of the team that successfully traced and arrested the accused in Bhatkal.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
