Udupi, Apr 3: As part of the Brahmakalashotsava celebrations at the Bannanje Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple, an audio album titled “Bannanje Odeya Mahalingeshwara”, rendered by renowned singer and Golden Book of World Record holder Vidwan Yashavanth M G, was officially released at the temple premises on April 3.
Udupi district superintendent of police Hariram Shankar unveiled the audio recording. Speaking on the occasion, he said that although he had passed through the Bannanje area several times, he had not had the opportunity to visit the temple before. He added that it felt as though the deity itself had drawn him to the temple during this auspicious Brahmakalashotsava. He assured that the police department would provide comprehensive security to ensure that all events during the festival proceed smoothly.



Singer Vidwan Yashawanth M G shared that the song was composed based on the historical background of the Bannanje Mahalingeshwara Temple. He noted that the composition blends spiritual depth with lyrical beauty, and was completed through continuous day-and-night effort within just two days.
Committee president Madhava Bannanje welcomed the gathering, while convenor Ramesh Kanchan delivered the vote of thanks. Temple priest Madhusoodan Upadhyaya offered prayers, and Krithi Moodubettu compered the programme.
The event was attended by Hariprasad Rai, H P R Group of Institutes, Manipal president; Ganesh Rao, Moodu Nidambur Brahmana Mahasabha president; office bearers of the Brahmakalashotsava Committee and others.
