Kadaba: Police intercept illegal cattle transport; 18 head of cattle rescued, one arrested

Acting on specific intelligence, the Kadaba police intercepted an illegal cattle transportation attempt in the early hours of Friday, April 3, at Kanvare. The operation resulted in the rescue of 18 head of cattle and the arrest of one individual.

The arrested person has been identified as Akram Pasha, a resident of Hosur.

According to police sources, a container truck was illegally transporting cattle from Hassan towards Kerala.

 

Based on a tip-off, a police team led by Kadaba sub-inspector Jamburaj Mahajan set up a checkpoint at Kanvare and intercepted the vehicle. Upon inspection, 18 head of cattle were found crammed into the container in deplorable conditions.

While the police managed to apprehend Akram Pasha at the spot, another accomplice managed to flee into the darkness. The vehicle and the cattle have been taken into into custody.

A case has been registered at the Kadaba police station, and a search is underway to nab the absconding accused.
