Mangaluru police recover, return 150 lost mobile phones to owners

Mangaluru, Apr 8: In a significant initiative, police in Mangaluru recovered and returned 150 mobile phones lost by members of the public due to various reasons.

According to a release from the police department, a special operation was carried out in March during which the missing devices were traced using the CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) portal. The operation was based on complaints registered by the public regarding lost mobile phones on the CEIR portal (https://ceir.sancharsaathi.gov.in/Home/index.jsp).

After verifying the complaints, police across the district launched a coordinated drive throughout March, successfully tracing 150 mobile phones. These devices were subsequently handed over to their respective owners at the jurisdictional police stations, the release added.
