Fire breaks out in Udyavara grassland, over 5 acres affected

Udupi, Apr 13: A fire broke out in a grassland area near Pitrody in Udyavara on April 12, causing damage to vegetation spread across more than five acres.

The blaze rapidly spread across the open field, destroying several trees and plants.

A drinking water supply pipeline belonging to the gram panchayat was also damaged in the incident.

Upon receiving information, personnel from the Udupi Fire and Emergency Services rushed to the spot. With the assistance of gram panchayat staff Narayana and Shyam, members Mithesh Suvarna and Ashok Amin, along with local residents, the fire was brought under control.
