Mangaluru, Apr 14: The investigation into the sensational murder of Arif in Thokkottu has intensified, with police taking three more suspects into custody in a significant breakthrough. The detainees have been identified as Arshad, Pucche Nisak, and Junaid.

Investigators suspect their involvement in the larger conspiracy and execution of the attack, allegedly linked to a plot targeting Ashraf.

Arshad is believed to have played a key logistical role, supplying weapons, funds, transportation, and even sensitive information on police movements to the main accused, police sources said.

Meanwhile, Pucche Nisak, is under suspicion for his alleged involvement not only in the February attempt on Arif’s life but also in a previous attack carried out in 2022.

Junaid is said to have facilitated the operation by arranging a vehicle for the assailants and is believed to have been part of the team involved in the earlier murder attempt.

Confirming the development, Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy said, “The three individuals are being questioned, and efforts are under way to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy.”

The case remains under active investigation, with officials indicating that further arrests and revelations may follow as the probe gathers pace.
