Kasargod, Mar 8: An anonymous call on Thursday March 8 claimed that explosives had been placed in the city railway station, sending the security personnel into a tizzy.

As soon as the call as received, bomb detection squads, reserve police force and canine squads were swung into action and an extensive search of the railway station was carried out.

They also searched the parking areas and the railway tracks, but could not find anything suspicious. It was later declared to be a hoax.

The anonymous call was made to the fire brigade at 8.05 am on Thursday from Karnataka. The person spoke in Malayalam and said that explosives had been placed in the railway station.

It may be recalled that on March 3, pipe bombs had been found lying on the Cheruvathur tracks, and passengers of Cheruvathur-Mangalore Express train had a narrow escape. Following the incident, police have been taking extra care to ensure security to rail passengers by conducting survey of the tracks and other such measures.

DySP Harischandra Nayak, sub-inspector Babu Perinjayat, RPF sub-inspector K M Sunil Kumar led the search operations.

There is no surpirse in it Nowadays Ksd is always in news for wrong reasons like communal clashes, fake currency.... The main reason for this is inactiveness of the police. Again we cant blame them completely coz their hands are tied up. Whenever they arrest someone within no time they will receive a call from influential persons/politicians & the culprits will roam freely. Nowadays one more gang is becoming active in Ksd i.e "quotation" gang. This is nothing but "supari" killers. Officials should take tough action against them now itself else it will be difficult to handle in future.
