ICYM Kundapur deanery organises ‘Yuvaura 2026’ youth event

Kundapur, Apr 16: ICYM Kundapur deanery successfully hosted the diocese-level sports meet Yuvaura on April 12 at Gandhi Maidan, Kundapur, bringing together youth from all five deaneries in a vibrant celebration of athleticism, unity, and sportsmanship.

The event commenced on time and was conducted in a well-organised and disciplined manner, ensuring a smooth flow throughout the day.

The sports meet featured a wide range of competitions across track, field, and group events. Track events included 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1500m races, while field events comprised shot put, long jump, high jump, discus throw, and javelin throw.

The group games added further excitement, with volleyball, throwball, tug of war, and the 4x100m relay drawing enthusiastic participation and cheering from the crowd.

All five deaneries participated actively, displaying remarkable talent and team spirit. After a series of competitive events, Udupi deanery emerged as the overall champions, while Shirva deanery secured the runners-up position with an impressive performance.

Special appreciation is extended to the organisers, Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Kundapur deanery, for their dedicated efforts in planning and executing the event seamlessly. Their coordination, commitment, and attention to detail played a key role in the success of the sports meet.

The event concluded on time with a closing ceremony that celebrated the achievements of all participants. Yuvaura 2026 stood as a testament to the strength, unity, and enthusiasm of the youth across the diocese.
