PMI Udupi Volunteers honoured at Chinthana Manthana programme in Hiriyadka Jail

Udupi, Apr 17: A government programme on Chinthana Manthana was held at the District Jail in Hiriyadka on April 16,  where volunteers of Prison Ministry of India Udupi diocese actively participated and contributed to the event.

PMI volunteers including Rosario D’Souza, Maxim D’Souza, Roland D’Souza, and Sr Melania D’Souza took part in the programme. Addressing the gathering, Sr Melania D’Souza delivered a brief but impactful Chinthana Manthana session for the inmates and jail authorities. Through thought-provoking stories, she inspired the inmates and helped boost their morale.

On the occasion, a felicitation programme was also held to honour the PMI volunteers for their dedicated, humanitarian, and continuous service to the inmates. The felicitation was led by Jail Superintendent V D Chawan along with the jail staff.

Rosario D’Souza was specially honoured with a certificate in recognition of his active leadership. Other volunteers were felicitated with shawls, garlands, fruits, and certificates of appreciation. All participating volunteers received certificates acknowledging their service.

Speaking at the event, jail superintendent V D Chawan highlighted the valuable contributions made by PMI towards the welfare and rehabilitation of inmates.

Responding on behalf of the team, Rosario D'Souza expressed gratitude to the jail authorities and staff for their support, cooperation, and encouragement extended to PMI volunteers.
