According to a complaint filed by Sumanth Shetty, the mishap occurred due to the negligence of the fireworks handlers and the temple management committee. The complainant alleged that the organizers failed to implement necessary safety measures or maintain an adequate distance between the display area and the devotees during the high-intensity fireworks show.
Based on the complaint, a case has been registered at the Puttur city police station. The police are investigating the safety protocols followed during the event and whether the required permissions for the display were in compliance with safety norms.
