Bangalore: Porn Clip Episode - Savadi Apologizes, Patil, Palemar, Plead Innocence

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Mar 9: On Thursday March 8, former ministers Laxman Savadi, C C Patil, and Krishna J Palemar were summoned before the house panel formed to inquire the incident in which they were caught on camera, watching porn video clips on a mobile when the assembly was session.

It is learnt that Savadi tendered unconditional apology for the incident. Minister, C C Patil, insisted that he was innocent. Palemar said his name was unnecessarily linked to the episode, although he had nothing to do with the incident. The members of the committee also tossed a number of questions at the trio, after the threesome presented their versions of the story.

Speaking to reporters after the panel sitting, its chief, Srishailappa Bidarur, told the media persons that the hearing of the three legislators had been completed, and the next meeting of the panel has been scheduled for March 15. He said that the panel will approach the assembly speaker with a request for extension of deadline, as the hearing needs to be held in a proper manner and in detail.

However, he confirmed that the panel does not plan to serve notices on any other legislators in connection with the case as reported in some media.

It is said that C C Patil, who was the first to be grilled, said that he was just sitting by the side of Savadi when some porn clippings appeared on the latter’s mobile phone. “The scenes I watched were not sexually explicit. I had asked Savadi to switch off the mobile phone, before going away,” he explained. He also said his eyesight is weak, and that without glasses he cannot view things that are close by. When told by members that he had viewed the mobile phone of Savadi, he said he was not wearing glasses and could not properly assimilate what was going on.

Krishna Palemar, who was the next in line, said the mobile in question does not belong to him, and that he had not lent his mobile phone to anyone. “My mobile phone remained switched off then. My name has been dragged into the episode without rhyme or reason. I am deeply pained at this development,” he said. When the members questioned him about scenes he was viewing on mobile with a Congress MLA, he said U T Khader was showing to him development works in his constituency and photos of his family members in his mobile.

Savadi, who initially insisted that he was not guilty, later got bewildered at several questions posed to him, and finally sought forgiveness for his fault, it is learnt. Savadi said he switched on the mobile accidentally, and also had claimed the mobile phone to be belonging to Palemar, because of the tension of the moment.

It is said that the members of the panel took the ministers to task for failing to protect the secrecy of the panel hearings and issuing public statements in their own defence. Savadi reportedly denied the newspaper reports attributed to him. The members also took to task Nehru Olekar for publicly saying that 15 more legislators had also watched the same video and that notices will be served on them too.

Prostitution / wine/ alcohol etc was there even in the medieval days. One can see in the carvings at Ajanta / ellora / belur / halebid etc.It was there even during Christ's time. So why make such a big fuss about porn etc.We have more serious things to bother about. The country has to move forward rather than get bogged into this silly matter.

When development, corruption are big issues why people people are making issue of stupid things like video clips. All political leaders have access to 'live' things they have no time to waste on 'clips'.

Let us not be fools and make mountain out of molehill.

Vijay kumar Shetty of Suratkal is suffering from Palemar phobia for years. Instead of criticising Palemar all the time, he has to work for people. Automatically Shetty will win if he works for people. Now without Palemar D K district is orphan. All earlier minsters from Karnataka proved useless. At Palemar was active in all district level activities and was popular with all sections of society.

THIS VERDIC OR CONCLUSION IS LIKE THIS: ASKING THE THIEF WHO HAS STOLEN SOME VALUABLES: DID YOU STEAL? THE THIEF WILL ANSWER, NO, I AM UNNECESSARILY DRAGGED INTO IT. ACTUALLY I DID NOT STEAL, MY HAND DID IT. I AM INNOCENT, MY HAND MUST BE PUNISHED AND I SHOULD BE LET FREE. THIS IS THE KIND OF JUDGEMENT HAPPENING UNDER BJP RULE IN KARNATAKA. AFTER WATCHING PORNO AND HAVING VIVID PICTURES OF THEM WATCHING IT TELECAST BY THE CHANNELS THEY ARE DENYING IT WHERE CAN WE FIND PLACE FOR TRUTH? THIS IS MONUMENTALLY RIDICULOUS. DODDANNA

I feel Sawadi should be forgiven bcz he accepted his mistake. No action should be taken. But other two blind Patil n film distributer through Bluetooth both should be expelled from assembly. Their membership should be cancelled. Every mistake is forgiven if the other party has not suffered any financial loss. Sawadi is more honest than other two.

C C Patil takes the 'cake' by way of his explanation. The proof of the 'pudding' is in it's eating
and all of it is what he wants to convey! With or without spectacles this man has made a 'spectacle'of himself. Spectacles may help you see more clearly man but the look on the face reveals all!
The less said of 'Savadi's' looks the better in this case! These 2 ex min isters should consider themselves fortunate because the 'camera' was from the back gallery. A front one would have revealed much more ! I mean on the faces of these ex-ministers!
Palemar (not holding a candle for him!) gave a decent quote to the press saying that he had already suffered much because of the episode and looked like it... We can give him credit on that account at least....

These three Porno Kings will stick to their own views. I think very soon one is going to say that he is blind, the other deaf and the third one will be blind. Like the three monkeys of Gandiji these are the three Prono Monkeys elected by us. This case has been stretched so long that i think by this time even Law is used to watching these clips again and again. What faith can we have on these ministers and law. Rules and regulations are only for the common man.

Even Law is in the hands of these corrupt ministers and they can change it as per their wish. Only we common people suffer. I am 100% sure that they will come out clean. They simply want to prolong this care for much more longer time and simply close it unnoticed. We people are used to all these things now and even these ministers know how to make use of common people.

Savadi has accpeted his guilt and aologised. So he is more human than other duos who are negating the charges.....Anyway... nothing is going to happen. Issue them the warning notice on record, put a penalty of one months salary and retain them as MLAs. Dont give them ministerial berth...Its not worth dragging...they didnt loot the country like Reddys, A Raja, Kalmadi and the like....

In gentleman spirit, and as an example to people in general, these men should have resigned on their own - whatever degree their guilt was. They would have raised their position in the public eye a little atleast.

How can anybody henceforth, be held accountible by police for similar offence, when MLAs in public view are unpunished?

People may belong to any political party, or have affiliation to any. But, when acts of this nature are defended and justified, we are murdering democracy, and our constitution.

Really pained that, wise people(can't use the word educated, it has lost the meaning in our caste/religion/region based society), are either quiet or are supporting - merely because they belong to the party, which we claim is ours.

I agree they watched Blue Film in assembly session. Its not a serious matter, if it happened out side of assembly house. black mark is come only because they are assembly members. it is a lesson for them , by losing minister berth. and now difficult for them to face public meetings also. I hope they will not do this mistakes any more as well as other members also follow them...

The trio should be tried and punished for lying before the house panel and the people who elected them.
