Mangaluru: Rosario Super Kings win RPL - Season 2

Mangaluru, Apr 21: Rosario Super Kings team emerged as the champions of Rosario Premiere League (RPL) – Season 2 by defeating Glory Hunters Rosario in the final match held at Rosario School Ground on Sunday, April 19.

Batting and bowling with great discipline, the unbeaten team of the tournament, Rosario Super Kings, outperformed their opponents in a closely contested final to lift the trophy. The winners were awarded a cash prize of Rs 25,000 along with the championship trophy, while runners-up Glory Hunters Rosario received Rs 10,000 and a trophy.

Jackson Furtado of Rosario Super Kings was adjudged Man of the Match in the final and also bagged the Man of the Series award for his consistent performances throughout the tournament. Lanvin Monteiro of Rosario Titans was named Best Batsman of the Series, while Sebastian of Glory Hunters Rosario was declared Best Bowler of the Series.

The tournament, organised by the ICYM Rosario, witnessed enthusiastic participation from teams including Rosario Titans, Strike Force Rosario and Royal Challengers Rosario.

The tournament was inaugurated by model & actress Wencita Dias, emcee & actor VJ Dixon, director Ranjit Bajal, along with the team of '90ml' Tulu movie.

On the occasion, the new logo of Rosario Cricket Friends was also unveiled.

Fr Valerian D’Souza, parish priest of Rosario Cathedral, presented the winners’ trophy to Aston Fernandes and Vijay Fernandes of Rosario Super Kings and the runners-up trophy to Nelson D’Souza and Vincent D’Souza of Glory Hunters Rosario. Fr Jaison Lobo, Cyril Rosario, vice president of the Parish Pastoral Council, Ida Furtado, secretary, and Ivan Pinto were present.
