Mangaluru: Man held after attempted sword attack amid marital dispute

Mangaluru, Apr 25: Naveen, a resident of Vamanjoor, who was facing marital issues, had been living separately after his wife divorced him and moved to Jokatte a few months ago.

On the night of Friday, April 24, Naveen reportedly took a sword and went to attack Devi Prasad, a resident of Kalavar, and attempted to assault him and his parents.

Devi Prasad alerted emergency services by calling 112. While attempting to escape, Naveen fell from his bike. Locals informed the police station, following which he was detained.

A case has been registered under Section 307 and the Arms Act based on a complaint filed by Devi Prasad.

The accused is currently at the police station and will be produced before the court.
