Puttur: Injured bike rider dies after accident

Puttur, Apr 25: Likhith Rai, a resident of Hirebandadi, who had sustained serious injuries after his motorcycle overturned, died in the early hours of Saturday, April 25, after failing to respond to treatment.

The accident had occurred on the evening of April 22 when the bike ridden by Likhith lost control and fell into a roadside pit at Shakhapura on the Koila-Hirebandadi road.

Members of the public rushed to his aid and admitted him to a hospital in Mangaluru for treatment after he suffered severe head injuries.

He had been undergoing treatment in a coma at the Mangaluru hospital and was later shifted to Puttur Government Hospital on the evening of April 24.

However, he did not respond to treatment and breathed his last at around 2.45 am on April 25.

Likhith Rai had recently completed his second PUC and was preparing to join college.
