Iran executes man convicted of links to Jaish al-Adl

Tehran, Apr 26: Iran has executed a man convicted of being a member of the Sunni militant group Jaish al-Adl and carrying out attacks on security forces, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency.

The man was identified as Amer Ramesh, who was arrested during a counter-terrorism operation in southeastern Iran.

Authorities said he was charged with armed rebellion and was involved in multiple attacks, including bombings and ambushes targeting military personnel.

Jaish al-Adl is a Sunni extremist militant group active in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan, one of the country’s most underdeveloped regions.

The group has been responsible for several attacks on Iranian security forces in recent years.

Iranian authorities have intensified operations against militant groups in the region amid ongoing security concerns.
