Dubai, Apr 28: South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt has reached a new career-high in the latest ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings following her exceptional performance against India women's national cricket team.
Wolvaardt delivered a standout performance in the five-match series, including a magnificient century in the third game and three half-centuries overall. She amassed 330 runs in total and was named Player of the Series as South Africa women's national cricket team secured a convincing 4-1 series win.

Her impressive form has propelled her up two places to third in the T20I batting rankings, just behind top-ranked Georgia Voll. The rise comes at a crucial time, with the ICC Women's T20 World Cup set to begin on June 12 in England and Wales.
Several other players also made gains following the series. India’s Richa Ghosh climbed to 22nd, while South Africa’s Sune Luus jumped six places to 29th.
In the bowling rankings, Sadia Iqbal of Pakistan continues to hold the top spot. India’s Deepti Sharma and South Africa’s Nonkululeko Mlaba have both moved up and are now tied for fourth place.
Just outside the top 10, India’s young talent Shree Charani reached a career-best ranking of 11th after climbing 12 places, thanks to her two-wicket performance in the series finale in Benoni.
Meanwhile, the latest ODI rankings have also been updated following Bangladesh women's national cricket team’s home series against Sri Lanka women's national cricket team.
Bangladesh’s Nigar Sultana rose to 35th in the ODI batting rankings, while Sobhana Mostary climbed to 45th. In bowling, Nahida Akter moved up to 11th and Marufa Akter advanced to 37th.
For Sri Lanka, captain Chamari Athapaththu improved her position to ninth in the ODI all-rounder rankings and also made gains among bowlers, while Harshitha Samarawickrama reached joint 20th in the ODI batting list, emerging as her team’s top performer.
