Karkala, Apr 30: In a decisive move to maintain law and order, authorities have issued an externment order against a habitual offender under the jurisdiction of the Karkala Town police station in Udupi district.
Somanath, alias Somu (40), a resident of Kumbrapadavu on Tellaru Road in Kasaba village, Karkala taluk, has been externed from the district following repeated involvement in criminal activities.
The externment order was issued on April 30, 2026, by the Special Executive Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police of Udupi district. A total of 11 cases have been registered against the accused, who is a listed rowdy-sheeter at the Karkala Town police station.
As per the order, Somanath has been externed to the jurisdiction of the Tunga Nagar police station in Shivamogga district.
