Mangalore, Mar 10: As part of silver jubilee celebrations, Dr M V Shetty College of Nursing, here, pioneer institute in the field of nursing celebrated International Women’s day on March 10 by organizing panel discussion on the topic “Domestic Violence” at Dr M V Shetty College auditorium.

Prof B V Kathyayani, principal, Dr M V Shetty College of Nursing welcomed the gathering. Dr M Ramagopal Shetty, founder secretary of Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust College presided over the function.

Guest talk was given by S P Chengappa, advocate and president, bar association of Dakshina Kannada. The valuable presence of Dr Hima Urmila Shetty, trustee Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust and the principals of various colleges under Dr M V Shetty trust graced the occasion.
 A documentary presentation on domestic violence was presented by Prof Vimala Prasad, vice principal, Dr M V Shetty College of Nursing.

Dr Vijay, consultant psychologist Attavar, Merlyn Martis, director DEEDS Mangalore, Shyamala, CDPO Mangalore rural project zilla panchayat and Prof B V Kathyayani, principal, Dr M V Shetty College of Nursing were the panelist members. 400 students and faculties of various colleges under Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust benefited from this panel discussion.
