Mangaluru: Kanara Engineering Industrial Tech Expo-2026 inaugurated in city

Mangaluru, May 1: The Kanara Industries Association (KIA), Baikampady, inaugurated the much-anticipated Kanara Engineering Industrial Tech Expo-2026 (KEITE-2026) at the Karavali Exhibition Ground, M G Road, on May 1.

The event aims to promote industrial growth, technological innovation, and skill development, while creating awareness among students, entrepreneurs, and the public regarding the latest advancements in the engineering and industrial sectors.

 

The expo was inaugurated by U T Khader, Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. Addressing the gathering, Khader appreciated the organisers for taking meaningful steps to promote education and innovation. "Education is the true foundation of progress and plays a vital role in shaping the future of individuals as well as the nation," he said.

He further added that progress becomes possible when people work with unity, share ideas, and support one another. He noted that such expos facilitate knowledge sharing, encourage innovation, and help find practical solutions to challenges faced by industries and society.

Chief guest Capt Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament, Dakshina Kannada, praised the KIA for organising a large-scale industrial and technology expo. He stated that such platforms are highly beneficial for young entrepreneurs, students, and industries to connect and explore new opportunities.

Guest of honour Vedavyas Kamath, MLA of Mangaluru City South, lauded the organisers for their dedication and teamwork in conducting the grand event. He assured his full support for future initiatives aimed at industrial development and employment opportunities in the region.

Dr Bharath Shetty, MLA of Mangaluru City North, congratulated the association and noted that such programmes inspire youth towards entrepreneurship and technical careers.

The occasion was graced by Acchal Group chairman G Giridhar Prabhu, KIA president M D Poojary, Canara Bank general manager Manjunath S Singai, SIDBI general manager Subba Rao Sripathi, KEITE chairman N Arun Padiyar, Garodi Steel proprietor Manoj Kumar Saripalla, MRPL JGM Prashanth Shankar, and NMPA deputy traffic manager Chandrashekhar Palekar, among others.

The expo features stalls from engineering and manufacturing units, technology companies, start-ups, financial institutions, and skill development organisations. Visitors can benefit from product displays, networking opportunities, and business interactions throughout the event.
