Karkala: Massive forest fire breaks out in Aladangady hill range; hectares at risk

Karkala, May 3:
 A massive forest fire broke out on Saturday evening, May 2, in the foothills of the Aladangady range within the Kudremukh National Park wildlife division.

The blaze has sparked significant concern as there is a high risk of the fire spreading across hundreds of acres of forest land.

  

The intensity of the flames was visible even from Aladangady town, causing panic among local residents and commuters.

Forest department officials and personnel rushed to the spot immediately.

They are currently engaged in an intensive operation to extinguish the fire.

 "The department is working hard to bring the situation under control," stated DFO Shivaram Babu.
