Udupi: Franklin Monteiro Asks Christians to Vote for BJP

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Mar 11: BJP Minority Morcha state vice president, Franklin Monteiro, has requested the Christians to vote for the BJP in the coming Lok Sabha bypoll. He made this plea, while addressing meetings at various places like Kalmadi in Malpe, Kallianpur, Kolalagiri, and several areas within the town here on Friday March 9.

“The BJP government, for the first time in the history, set up Christian Development Council, and reserved Rs 50 crore for the same. It is the only government to have taken up the issue of welfare of Christians. If the welfare and development of people has to be achieved, BJP needs public support,” he said.

Asking people to vote for BJP, he said that by permitting a medical college, an engineering college, and other educational institutions for the Christian community, the previous the past NDA government at the centre and BJP government in the state have made it amply clear that they are not against the interests of the Christians. BJP has repeatedly proved that it is different from other parties, and is interested in the progress of Christians, he added.

He was accompanied by member of the said council and MLA, Derrick Fulinfow, former zilla panchayat president, Gladys D’Almeida, zilla panchayat member, Gerald Fernandes Shirva, Milton Kolalagiri, and others.

This must be a hired Christian. It is easy to hire such persons even for one or two "sixties". Once the effect of sixty is gone, he himself may not vote to BJP, leave alone other doing so. Surprising part is, media gives coverage even to such jokers.

For me it doesn't matter which party wins. But, certainly not stinking BJP. By name no one becomes a Catholic. I would certainly live with a TRUE Hindu/Muslim than a third grade Catholic who betrays his own religion for few cursed coins. Now BJP supporters will lick your feet as 'Franklin Anna' & one fine day the same people will betray you. This is the quality of dongi BJP and its chehlas.

Who is this Franklin Monteiro to tell the Christians to vote for BJP. May be he is not aware of the attacks on Christian Churches, Places of Worship and Institution's. Just because he is been made the Vice President dosent mean BJP is working toward's the welfare of the Christians. I would suggest to vote for the best Candidate which ever Party he may belong to. We Christians though we are well literate we are not Shouldering full responsibilites, we have to be aware that politicians know about our literacy and if we use this in a proper manner there will be a change.

More than 75% of Christians caste their Votes I would like that to be Cent percent. Where as other religion People turn out to be Within 40%, So Mr. Monteiro bring awareness to the remaining few who do not caste Votes due to sheer Negligence, Laziness or the careless attitude that is all required from you. Not any Party Proganda.

Franklin Anna is a very nice person. BJP state govt has not done any injustice to minorities. It's the so called secular party kangress brainwashing people saying that BJP is against minorities because even secular party kangress also worried about minority votes now.

You have made your plea Franklin, your job is done. Its left to people to decide and vote for the party they desire.

Please don't boast about the funds approved /granted - its after all peoples money, collected through taxes. BJP did not give it from its pocket. Perhaps better than pocketing it themslves like it happened in the case of bogus job-cards to claim the money that was granted for rural development.

When no money was granted none were begging - Christians are educated, productive - not roaming the streets breaking others place of worship.

Judas of the community are always remembered for their betrayal.

    Dear Mr. Monteiro,
After having experienced attacks on the church and other institutions since 2008. i'll say the same thing which a person once said in this forum i.e. " We'll rather eat Congee during peace rather than eating biryani during bloodshed".

Secondly, The candidate Sunil Kumar himself goes around saying that its enough if only Hindus vote for him then why are you seeking votes from other communities?

    Awaiting your response.
    Regards,
    A Citizen,

    Mr Monterio,

You should be sincere in your heart and tongue. BJP govt alloted Rs. 50 crores for christians. Allocation is on paper but out of 50 crores how much has been spent. If we see the promises and allocation of all political parties, if it were to come true, then India would have been a super super power by now and every Indian would have been the richest in the world. By voting to BJP do you want more church attacks? Do you wish the idols and grettos of Jesus and Mary to be vandalised and broken. Please fight the battle on reasonings of development, equality, welfare.

Anyway, the christians of coastal karnataka are literate and know whats best in their interest. They should vote for the candidate whom they think is suitable. I request the voters to vote for individuals rather than the party... as all political parties are corrupt and ethicless. UPA led by congress in the center is full of corruption. In our state the govt led by BJP is more corrupt than UPA at the center. As political parties, both congress and BJP are faces of same coin... but individuality is different. Please weigh the personalities... Who is a better person JPH or Sunil Kumar and then decide and vote... Remember your vote is valuable and see that its not wasted by voting erratically. Good luck to you voters and May God bless you all in taking wise decission that benefit us all alike...
