Ranchi, May 5: A sub-zonal commander of the banned Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC), a splinter group of CPI (Maoist), has been arrested with arms and ammunition in Jharkhand’s Latehar district, police said on Tuesday.
The accused, aged 42, has reportedly been associated with the outfit for the past 15 years and is wanted in at least 16 criminal cases across multiple districts.

According to Ranchi Rural Superintendent of Police Gaurav Goswami, the arrest was made during a raid conducted at his residence under Chandwa police station limits following a tip-off about his presence.
During the operation, police recovered a pistol, seven cartridges, a mobile phone, and other materials from his possession.
During interrogation, the accused reportedly disclosed details about his associates. Police said several members of his squad have already been arrested or killed in encounters, while efforts are underway to trace the remaining operatives.
Authorities also stated that action will be taken against individuals providing support to the group.
A case was registered at Burmu police station on Monday, and the accused has been sent to judicial custody, police added.
